True Life at Mansfield University
MTV’s “True Life” has provided a window into the struggles, hopes, and dreams of young people. Narrated solely by its characters, each episode documents the unusual–and often remarkable–circumstances of real individuals. Mansfield University senior Barry Hughes was the subject of a recent True Life episode. Fellow student Matthew Coppadge talks with Barry about how he was chosen for the show, the MTV experience and the reaction from people around the country after the show aired.
1982 MU graduate, and longtime Mansfield resident, Jody Thomas was asked to testify in Washington before the President’s Rural Education Caucus. Mrs. Thomas shares her story with Public Relations Director Dennis Miller. They talk about her trip as well as early childhood education.
